The Event

When is the Father’s Day WARRIOR Fun Run 10km, 5km & 2km? 
Sunday, 2 September 2018.

How do I register for the Father’s Day WARRIOR Fun Run 10km, 5km & 2km?
Online registrations will be available from Thursday 19 July. Entrants will also be able to register in person at the Event Registration Centre, open on Sunday from 7.30am. This will be located at Brazilian Fields, Centennial Park.

What time does each race start?
5km and 10km both start at 9:00am. The 2km event will start at 10:30am.

When should I arrive on event morning?

We suggest that you arrive 45 mins prior to your event start to ensure you're familier with the course.

Who can enter the event?
The event is open to everyone - elite athletes, club runners, gym members, or anyone who enjoys a social walk or jog. We are encouraging everyone in the community, especially men, to celebrate Father’s Day with their families by participating in this special event.

Entry Information

How do I pay for my entry?
You can pay through our secure online payment system by MasterCard and Visa card when you register here . You can also pay via cash or EFT at the Registration Centre, Sunday 2 September from 7.30am*.

Sunday entries are subject to availabilty.

When do entries close?

Can I transfer my entry or obtain a refund?

Entry fees are non-refundable for non-starters and non-finishers as per the terms and conditions. Entry fees are refundable before 13 August, 2018 although event organisers will retain 25% of the entry fee to cover administration costs. All entries are non-transferable as per the terms and conditions.

Where do I leave and collect my clothing?
You will be able to leave baggage at the baggage area provided, which will be located at the tent next to the registration marquee. Please note you should not leave any valuables inside bags and that organisers will not be responsible for lost property. All baggage will need to be collected no later than 11.30am.

Where are the toilets?
There are toilets nearby the start and finish and a small bank of portaloos at the venue.

How do I apply for a preferred start?
Runners wanting a preferred start must first register online then email with a previous result over a 10km distance (must be in previous 12 months) and the event in which you competed in. As a guide, preferred starts will be offered to males running under 35 mins and females running under 40 mins. Please note that enquiries for a preferred start will be confirmed within two business days of sending through the email and are subject to availability.

Will you post my event kit?
If you enter on or before midnight Sunday 26th August, 2018 and have provided a valid Australian address, you can select to have your Event Kit posted to you for $6.50. Race packs will be sent out from Monday 27 August 2018. If you do not receive your race pack we will be able to make a replacement for you at the Registration Centre during event week. Once you receive your race pack please be sure to keep it in a safe place and do not bend your timing chip. You will need your bib to participate on the day.

All entrants will receive a confirmation email which includes important event information and your bib number. If not you do not purchase postage, please retain your confirmation email for kit collection at the Event Registration Centre prior to Event Day.

Can I register a team?
Yes - Team Captains need to create a team by choosing an option "Create a Team" during registration. 

Can I run with an iPod or other music device?
While we discourage the use of iPods or other personal music devices, we do not impose a ban on wearing headphones on course. However, the use of headphones can impede an individual’s ability to hear marshals or other course officials. Participants who choose to wear headphones on course do so at their own risk and are asked to pay attention to officials and other participants throughout their event.

Course Information for 10km

Is the course accurate?
The Father’s Day WARRIOR Fun Run 10km is AIMS certified accurate and is precisely 10km. The event is also run under IAAF rules.

What will I find along the course?
Drink stations will be available around the course. 

Will medical support be available along the course?
St John Ambulance teams will be located on the course at various locations. If you are feeling unwell please report to the nearest official or medical personnel as soon as possible. If you see any fellow participant in distress please report the incident to the nearest official or St John Ambulance team member. If it is an emergency please dial '000' and report the exact location of the incident.

Event Registration Centre

Where is the Event Registration Centre?


You can have your event kit mailed to you (only available on registration for the event). This option closes on midnight Sunday 26 August.

Event Kits can also be collected on the morning of the event, Sunday 2nd September from 7:30am at:

Centennial Park, Brazilian Fields, Parkes Drive in Centennial Parklands.

What do I need to bring with me to collect my event kit?
For ease of identification, please bring your confirmation email or photo ID. We need your bib number to find your event kit quickly.

What if I can’t collect my event kit?
If you are unable to pick up your event kit you can nominate someone to collect it on your behalf. They must bring a copy of your confirmation email.

Getting to the start and finish

What time does the race start?
5km – 9:00am

10k – 9:00am

How do I get to the start line?
Consider your public transport options to get to the Father’s Day WARRIOR Fun Run race start in Centennial Park, Sydney. For information on trackwork, timetables, maps and trip planning, use the Transport Info 131 500: , the Transport Info App or call 131 500.

Car parking options

Centennial Parklands will be closed for the duration of the event, the only access will be via the Entertainment Quarter end, and parking will only be available on the Oxford Street side of Centennial Park. This will fill early. Once full you will need to park outside Centennial Park and walk into the site.

What is available after we finish?
Traditional Indigenous food (BBQ bush tucker) music, entertainment and market stalls will be available for participants to enjoy after the race.

Why are results based on Gun Time and not Net Time? 
The official results are based on Gun Time as per the IAAF rule 165 part 24; as this event is run under these rules and times can be used for selection into international and Olympic events we must abide by these rules.

However, we always provide net time for participants to know the true (net) time it took for them to run from the start line to the finish line.

Transponder System 
24. The use of Transponder Timing Systems approved by IAAF in events held under Rules 230 (races not held completely in the stadium), 240 and 250 is permitted provided that:
(a) None of the equipment used at the start, along the course or at the finish line constitutes a significant obstacle or barrier to the progress of an athlete.
(b) The weight of the transponder and its housing carried on the athletes’ uniform, bib or shoe is not significant.
(c) The System is started by the Starter’s gun or synchronised with the start signal. 
(d) The System requires no action by an athlete during the competition, at the finish or at any stage in the result processing. 
(e) The resolution is 1/10th of a second (i.e. it can separate athletes finishing 1/10th of a second apart). For all races, the time shall be read to 1/10th of a second and recorded to the whole second. All read times not ending in zero shall be converted and recorded to the next longer whole second, e.g. for the Marathon, 2:09:44.3 shall be recorded as 2:09:45. 
Note: The official time shall be the time elapsed between the firing of the starting gun and the athlete reaching the finish line. 
However, the time elapsed between an athlete crossing the start line and the finish line can be made known to him, but will not be considered an official time.
